Powerful Ad Uses Trump's Own Words To Show How Essential Planned Parenthood Is

Brought to you by cancer survivors.

“Millions and millions of women ― cervical cancer, breast cancer ― are helped with Planned Parenthood.”

These words were spoken by none other than President Donald Trump during his 2016 presidential campaign, specifically during the February 2016 primary debate.

The footage is used in a commercial produced by Cancer Survivors Network for Planned Parenthood to show that Trump has expressed pro-Planned Parenthood views before, and to remind him to “Stand With Survivors.” The timely ad was released last week, on the heels of the GOP’s proposed health care plan, which would defund Planned Parenthood and leave 24 millions Americans without health care coverage.

The commercial features a breast cancer survivor, Jaime, who talks about her experience with Planned Parenthood and how the health care organization saved her life.

“One day, I found a lump on my right breast,” she says. “So I called Planned Parenthood, and they got me in that day. Within two weeks, I had a complete radical mastectomy. Had Planned Parenthood not have gotten me that appointment, I probably wouldn’t be around.”

According to the Cancer Survivors Network for Planned Parenthood, the health care organization provides more than 650,000 cancer screenings and prevention services annually, so that patients, like Jaime, can take control of their health and get the care they need.
