'Preachers' Daughters': Taylor's Parents Join Her Date

Taylor was probably surprised on "Preachers' Daughters" when she was actually given permission to go on a date. But there was one huge catch. Her parents were going to go along with her and interrogate her date, Demotious.

Right off the bat, Demotious was in the deep end when Taylor's father had a hard time believing his answer about his age. He insisted on seeing Demotious' driver's license to prove he was 20 years old -- Dad felt he looked older.

Taylor's mom backed this badgering totally, adding, "You’re not getting in a car until I see this is a legit driver’s license."

The fun didn't stop there for Demotious. He had to endure questions about church, smoking weed, sexual activity and if he was willing to take a vow of celibacy. It was certainly a lot to pile on a young man who thought he was just going out on a date with a young woman that he liked.

Taylor's father told the Christian Post that this level of involvement in his daughter's life, and who she's hanging out with, is just good parenting. "Be open with your children, talk to them. Keep your eyes on them," he said. "I want to know what's going on with [Taylor] so I know how to deal with it."

Watch that good parenting unfold every week on "Preachers' Daughters," Tuesdays at 10 p.m. ET on Lifetime.
