President Obama Reaffirms The Potential Of Boys Of Color In Powerful PSA

"If we believe in their futures, they will believe in them, too," President Obama said.

Young black and brown boys don't always see reaffirming messages in society that allow them to believe that they can grow up to become successful. Without this reassurance, their potential can be stifled.

This is why programs like President Barack Obama's My Brother's Keeper are so essential. For the past two years, My Brother's Keeper has sought to eliminate the achievement gap and make opportunities available for young boys and men of color that they might have not gotten otherwise.

A commercial which aired during the MTV Movie Awards on Sunday night underscored the importance of this with a motivational message. It takes a look into the future of several young boys of color, introducing them as future directors, scholars, presidents, writers, among other esteemed titles and recipients of awards.

"If we believe in their futures, they will believe in them, too," Obama said in the video.

Well said, Mr. President.
