President Obama's Vacation Home In Hawaii Wasn't Available This Year (PHOTOS)

We wouldn't mind spending a week here.

Even the President doesn't always get the homes he wants.

No, we’re not talking about the White House, we’re talking about President Obama’s vacation home in Hawaii, that unfortunately he missed out on two years in a row.

According to the Daily News, the Plantation Estate home in Oahu, where President Obama, Michelle, Sasha and Malia spent their Christmas vacation from 2008 to 2010, was not available for rent. “Last year my family used it and this year, before I knew he was interested, I had rented it out,” owner Glenn L. Weinberg told the paper.

And while we’re sure the First Family enjoyed their stay at an estate just a few houses away on Paradise Point, it’s probably pretty hard not to feel a little disappointment about missing out on the stunning home. Toptenrealestatedeals.com got an inside look at the place the Obamas relaxed in during those earlier visits, and it is magnificent.

For $24,500 per week the First Family enjoyed a 6,000-square-foot abode complete with five bedrooms, five bathrooms, a spa and golf courses. Not to mention the breathtaking views and semi-secluded hot tub and pool. The estate is also carefully monitored, which is necessary for the Obamas, according to its website. “The home is built for exceptional security, comfort and elegance just steps from the silky white sands of Kailua Beach, recognized as the number one presidential vacation destination and one of the best beaches in the world.”

We’re particularly impressed with the decor that looks as elegant and sophisticated as our favorite first family. With a fully-functioning kitchen that has stainless steel appliances and gleaming wood floors anyone would love, this home definitely feels presidential.

Luckily for the Obamas, Weinberg is eager to have them back next year. “This is their fifth year in a row coming to the same area," he told the Daily News. "I would love to have them as guests another time.”
