Presidential Election Results MAP (REAL-TIME DATA)

LOOK: Presidential Election Results MAP

Here is where you'll find the presidential election results for the 2012 general election.

The race remained close going into Election Day, with national polls giving President Barack Obama a slight lead in the popular vote over Mitt Romney, the former governor of Massachusetts and Republican presidential nominee.

Several prediction models, including HuffPost Pollster and Nate Silver's FiveThirtyEight blog for the New York Times, predicted that Obama would win a second term, finding many paths to the 270 electoral votes needed to secure victory.

Still, the results in so-called tossup states -- like Ohio, Florida, Virginia, New Hampshire, North Carolina and Colorado -- are considered the most critical.
