After the royal wedding takes place on April 29th, Prince William and his new princess won't sit idly by and not commit to state visits, no, they're heading to Canada, the Palace announced on Wednesday.
"Prince William and Miss Catherine Middleton have accepted an invitation from the government of Canada to undertake a Royal Tour," the palace said in a statement. The tour will take the newlyweds on a tour of the nation, including Alberta, the Northwest Territories, Prince Edward Island and Ottawa, according to the BBC.
The trip will run from June 30 to July 8th; the couple will be there for Canada Day on July 1st (the Canadian equivalent of the Fourth of July), according to People.com.
Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper said in a statement:
"Canada looks forward to welcoming the young couple this summer and providing them with all that our country has to offer - including, of course, the special hospitality and warmth reserved for members of the Royal Family. It is my sincere hope that their tour will be the start of a lasting relationship with Canada by the royal couple."
Astonishingly, William last visited the country in 1998 with his brother and father, according to the Daily Mail.
