Princess Beatrice Skips Royal Ascot For Hospice Visit (PHOTOS)

PHOTOS: Princess Beatrice Visits Hospice Instead Of Attending Royal Ascot

Princess Beatrice's sister Eugenie may be coming to New York City soon, but the elder royal is deepening her roots in Britain's charity scene.

Beatrice attended the Trinity Academy School's opening in Halifax on Friday, skipping out on Royal Ascot festivities to visit a children's hospice instead. Wearing a smart blazer and a bright blue skirt, the 24-year-old watched students perform a musical number and sat in on some classes... and demonstrated her skillful reflexes, as she nearly dropped a curtain when pulling it aside to reveal a commemorative plaque, but caught it just in time.

In a speech, Beatrice said, "I wish I came to a school like this." We're sure the student body would agree -- who wouldn't want to be classmates with the stylish princess? Click through the slideshow below to see Beatrice in action in Halifax!
