Princess Charlene & Prince Albert II Make First U.S. Appearance At Princess Grace Awards (PHOTOS)

PHOTOS: The Royals Have Arrived!

The evening was chock full of princesses, both real and fictional, as the Monaco royals made their first-ever U.S. appearance since their July wedding.

Princess Charlene and Prince Albert II walked the red carpet at the Princess Grace Awards Gala on Tuesday night, held in honor of Albert's mother Grace Kelly.

And after tumultuous pre-wedding drama and several months of less-than-romantic post-wedding appearances, we have to say: the royal couple actually looked quite happy.

We even saw a few genuine Charlene smiles, although she was the one making us smile when she was asked about Blair Waldorf playing a Monaco princess on this season of "Gossip Girl." She turned to a nearby guest and asked in bewilderment, "Gossip Girl -- what's that?"

Because who needs fictional fairytales when you have a real one? Princess Charlene wore a black glittery Christian Dior gown (what, no Akris?) and joined fictional royalty Julie Andrews and Anne Hathaway at the party.

Hathaway, who played a Princess of Monaco-esque character with Andrews in "The Princess Diaries," presented Andrews with The Prince Rainier III Award at an elaborate Montblanc-sponsored ceremony.

Several other celebs and socials walked the red carpet, but none stole the show like the Prince and the Princess. Check out photos of the Princess Grace Awards Gala below!
