Princess Eugenie To New York City For Auction House Job: REPORT

REPORT: Princess Eugenie Moving To New York City For Auction House Job

Get out the welcome wagon, everyone: Princess Eugenie is reportedly moving to New York City!

The 23-year-old British royal has scored a job at Paddle8, a New York-based art auction house, reports the Daily Mail. "Since leaving university, Eugenie has been committed to working in the arts world and has done some internships but is now set to take on a permanent role at graduate level," a friend close to the Duchess of York (Eugenie's mum) told the Daily Mail.

The job would mean moving to the US, then eventually returning to England to work in Paddle8's planned London offices. Back in England, Eugenie would be leaving behind her boyfriend, 26-year-old banker Jack Brooksbank, and her family, including grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, her first cousins Princes Harry and William and her soon-to-be royal baby cousin.

We reached out to a representative of Paddle8, who replied, "Paddle8 has no comment at this time." But we wouldn't be surprised if Eugenie had hooked up with the auction house, which was founded by Alexander Gilkes and Aditya Julka. Gilkes is an Eton alum, just like Prince William, and scored a spot on the coveted Royal Wedding guest list back in 2011.

And while it's unusual for a high-ranking member of the British royal family to decamp to another country, there are other princesses currently dwelling in New York. Sweden's Princess Madeleine moved to Manhattan three years ago and recently wed her American-based banker boyfriend, Chris O'Neill.

So at least Eugenie would have another royal to hit the clubs with.
