Activist Robert Davis filed a challenge with the Wayne County Elections Commission to remove my name from the August 5th Primary Election ballot as a candidate for Wayne County Executive. He challenges that a sitting commissioner is ineligible to run for county executive.

I think this challenge is an attempt to limit voters' choices during the primary election and keep the status quo. It dictates to voters who they should choose as their next county executive.

These are the same people using the same tactics, doing everything they can to stop change. Like Mike Duggan in Detroit, McNamara in Wayne County will not allow this to happen to voters.

Yes, it's true. I am a sitting Wayne County Commissioner. I am seeking the office of County Executive because I want to affect real change. And, I did not file for re-election in Commission District 11.

I wholeheartedly believe most Wayne County voters want a leader who will make county government work for the people.

Let's stand together against the type of anti-voter choice and anti-government change this challenge represents.
