Pulse 2.0 At The New World Symphony (JIPSY PHOTOS)

PHOTOS: New World Dancy Party

The fusion of classical and dance music was perfectly presented by the New World Symphony on Friday night at the Pulse 2.0 event with a little help from local DJ Sean Drake, who kept the beats fresh and had the crowds dancing. The evening started early for NWS’s Friends Members, who gathered on the rooftop to sip on Grey Goose cocktails or Nespresso coffees, depending on their vice, while taking in gorgeous views of South Beach. Personally, it’s one of my favorite rooftops on the beach. As we walked into the floor level, the NWS turned into a dance party. There was a dance floor for guests to mingle and enjoy the symphony fellows up close and personal. There were seats on the second levels and above, but on the floor is where you wanted to be. Being up close and personal to soprano Elaine Alvarez (a baba booey to her; she works on the Howard Stern Show) was pretty cool, and so was being able to walk around the stage where the fellows played. In true NWS style, this was not your ordinary symphony set up. At the end of the performance, the crowd stuck around, dancing to Sean Drakes selections. What a perfect way to kick off the weekend on the right notes.
