Pussy Riot is back with another video. This time, the punk band and activist collective is thanking the group's supporters -- from celebrities to every day folk. A poster of Vladimir Putin is also burned.
Among the big names who get mentioned in the video: Bjork, Madonna, Green Day and the Red Hot Chili Peppers, all of whom made statements of support while three Pussy Rioters were on trial for hooliganism. The three members were found guilty on the charges, which stemmed from the performance of a punk rock song in a church. Though the an appeal is currently under way, they are currently serving two-year prison sentences.
In late August, two other members of the band escaped from Russia. They had feared further arrests would target the group.
Madonna was among the most vocal celebrities in the free Pussy Riot chorus, releasing statements, mentioning the trial in concerts and even writing the band's name on her back.
At the red carpet for Thursday's MTV Video Music Awards, Sway asked Green Day's Billie Joe Armstrong how he felt about being thanked by the band. Armstrong -- who was recovering from a recent hospital stay but performed during the VMAs -- said it was a huge honor.
