It's not just ladies -- or even Hollywood celebs -- who are scrutinized incessantly for signs of plastic surgery.
Back in September, we reported on Internet speculation about whether Russian prime minister Vladimir Putin had gotten a facelift.
And now the rumors have resurfaced after Putin, 59, appeared on Russian television yesterday for a formal Q&A session and viewers noticed his tanned, newly-alert visage. Russians rushed to their computers to gossip about Putin's face, and the conversation hit such a fever pitch that the Russian word for "Botox" even started to trend on Twitter, the Telegraph reports.
Gossip about Putin's potential Botox use first emerged last October, when he showed up to a meeting in Ukraine with huge, multicolored bruises around his eyes, says the Guardian. After all, a world leader can't exactly escape to Canyon Ranch to recover for two weeks from his cosmetic surgery.
If the Russian rumors are true, Putin wouldn't be the first world leader to go under the knife. Earlier this year, rumors swirled that Italian PM Silvio Berlusconi's plastic surgeon Liacyr Ribeiro had also provided liposuction and hair plugs for late Libyan dictator Mohammar Gaddafi.
