Pygmy Hippopotamus Born In Wroclaw, Poland (VIDEO)

WATCH: TINY Rare Baby Pygmy Hippo

This video from CBS News shows an adorable and rare baby pygmy hippopotamus that was recently born at Wroclaw Zoo in Poland.

The baby was 11 pounds at birth, and the zoo is holding a contest to name him, KHOU reports.

According to the Smithsonian National Zoological Park, pygmy hippos are smaller than their cousins, common Nile hippopotamuses, and are more pig-like in shape. Because of their mysterious, nocturnal lifestyle -- and the fact no more than a few thousand remain in the wild -- researchers know very little about their behavior outside of captivity.

The IUCN lists the species as endangered.
