What is UYD Media and why'd you start it?

UYD Media is a platform that helps businesses and individuals communicate and connect across cultures. I started it because after growing up in five countries and four continents, I realized just how much cultural awareness could help with fostering innovation in entrepreneurship as well building global leaders.

I also didn't see any other platform telling stories that I could relate as someone who identified with several cultures so I went ahead and created one. My generation (millennials) connect more with digital platforms, story telling and media than any other

How does UYD Media work?

Since it's a media/publishing platform, people just visit www.uydmedia.comto read the content or to listen to As Told By Nomads (http://bit.ly/1vmD3Fu) and the Hustle Culture (http://apple.co/1Pqdj7a).

Aside from that we are now starting to work with businesses and organizations who want to move businesses abroad to emerging markets.

Give me some numbers. What's UYD's international presence now?

Right now our readers and listeners are in 151 countries. We have a contributor network of about 67 across 6 continents and out podcasts consistently rank well on the iTunes chart. We are still growing but have been pleasantly humbled by the support we get from our audience. If it wasn't for their word of mouth, there would be no UYD Media.

How does this relate with revenue?

As it relates to revenue, we realized that we had to diversify our model pretty early on especially since we initially started as a publishing platform. So far it has been the typical advertising and sponsorship.

But now we are laying the framework for our consulting practices. More businesses and schools are asking us for services so we are constantly creating consulting packages.

In addition to this, we plan on having more offline events in 2016 to showcase so stay tuned for those.
