Queen Elizabeth II Wears Hairnet To Chelsea Flower Show (PHOTOS)

Before Queen Elizabeth II wore florals to meet FLOTUS on Tuesday, she stepped out to the Chelsea Flower Show in London on Monday in a printed dress, baby blue coat and a hairnet.

That's right, a hairnet! The headpiece was decorated with black bows and was supposedly made by designer Angela Kelly. A Buckingham Palace spokesman confirmed to the Daily Mail, "It wasn't a fascinator. It was definitely a net. I think it was a pragmatic choice as it was fairly windy down there." The Mail adds that some passersby joked "she should 'sell the offending article on eBay and have the milliner sent to the Tower.'" Speaking of, Princess Beatrice was there, too.

Anyway, we're not sure if the Queen had her sights set on starting a trend (see: hat-and-scarf combo in Abu Dhabi), or if this is standard gardening gear. Horticulturalists, we're not.
