Queen Elizabeth II Opens New Somerset House Wing In Wild Hat (PHOTOS)

PHOTOS: The Queen's Wild Hat

The Queen and her husband, the Duke of Edinburgh, journeyed to Somerset House on Wednesday to open a new wing that will house the King's College's law school.

Everything looked to be in true royal style: Her Majesty rolled up in her Bentley State Limousine and alighted clutching her favorite black bag. And of course, she was wearing one of her signature fascinators: a wild feathered hat to match her tan and black coat, which was reportedly designed by the queen's assistant and sometimes designer, Angela Kelly.

Her topper looks like something we'd see on Etsy -- and we mean that in an AWESOME way.

Prior to the Somerset function, the queen unveiled a Jubilee Greenway disc at Buckingham Palace to commemorate the start of the 60-km. Jubilee Greenway walking and cycling route. Yep: that's a kilometer for each year of the queen's reign.

It's been a busy year for Queen Elizabeth II. Her Majesty is set to open the Olympics this summer. As part of her Diamond Jubilee tour to celebrate her 60-year reign, she's received a set of portraits and gotten the royal family in on the fun; she'll also be charmed by the musical stylings of Paul McCartney and Elton John, among others, at an honorary concert in June.
