Uganda's Anti-Gay BillUgandan President Yoweri Museveni officially signed the country's controversial anti-gay bill into law on Monday after Ugandan scientists reportedly found that there is no genetic basis for homosexuality. The new law sets the penalty for "first offenders" performing same-sex acts at 14 years in jail and life imprisonment for repeated gay sex between consenting adults.

Arizona's Anti-Gay BillA controversial bill known as SB 1062 passed the Arizona state legislature last week, which would allow businesses to deny service to customers broadly based on "religious freedom." Republican Arizona Governor Jan Brewer announced her decision to veto the bill on Wednesday.

Kentucky Recognizes Out Of State Same-Sex MarriagesA federal judge in Kentucky signed an order on Thursday that declared state officials must recognize the legality of same-sex marriages performed in other states and countries.

Texas Gay Marriage Ban Ruled UnconstitutionalA Texas judge on Wednesay ruled that the state's ban on same-sex marriage is unconstitutional. However, the judge also issued a stay on the order, meaning that the ban will remain in effect pending appeal.

The Effects Of Lesbian ParentingThe first of its kind, a new study that compared "adolescent-parent relationships and adolescent well-being in intact lesbian and heterosexual families" found that the children of lesbian parents reported both higher levels of self-esteem and lower behavioral problems than children raise by heterosexual couples.
