'Rachael Ray': Kathy Griffin Explains 'Tired Hooker,' Inspiration For Comedy Specials (VIDEO)

Kathy Griffin Explains Inspiration Behind 'Tired Hooker'

Rachael Ray was impressed with Kathy Griffin's four comedy specials in the past calendar year. "It's never been done," she marveled on "Rachael Ray" (Weekdays, Syndicated on ABC). Fans know that Griffin relies heavily on our current reality television landscape, as well as the political arena for her material.

"I say thank you Kardashians. I say thank you presidential race. I say thank you GOP," Griffin said. "It's all part of the zeitgeist and we're all up to the minute on what's changing, so I'm happy to do four in one year."

Ray was particularly delighted by the name of one of Griffin's specials, but there was no special story behind "Tired Hooker." "I've done something like ten stand-up specials now between HBO and Comedy Central, so I don't even know what to name them," Griffin said.

Griffin's next assignment? She's looking to get Anderson Cooper fired on their joint CNN New Year's special. At least, that's what she told Jimmy Kimmel.

TV Replay scours the vast television landscape to find the most interesting, amusing, and, on a good day, amazing moments, and delivers them right to your browser.
