'Raising Hope' Premiere: Melanie Griffith Is Sabrina's Self-Absorbed Mom

After a double-dose of "New Girl" delayed the premiere by a week, "Raising Hope" finally returned to the air, and it brought along a star family for the event. Melanie Griffith was on-hand as Sabrina's self-absorbed mother Tamra, while Griffith's real-life mother, Tippi Hedren, played her character's mother.

The gang was gathered at Sabrina's grandmother's (Hedren) house for her funeral service. Her being dead didn't deny viewers the chance to see the mother and daughter actresses share some screen time. Grandma had filmed her will, and in it she had some choice words for her daughter Tamra.

"You’re a spoiled brat, with no respect for marriage or money and, because of that ... you get nothing," she said. And then, knowing that Tamra would say, "I hate you," the recorded Hedren said it right back. She certainly knew her daughter.

She donated all of her money to a charity to get rid of charities, and then surprised everyone by leaving her house to Sabrina. There was one caveat, though. Sabrina had to be engaged to move in. By the end of the episode, Jimmy managed to give a sincere enough proposal that the two are now properly engaged. Now they just have to figure out how to keep Virginia and Burt from moving in with them.

The new season of "Raising Hope" continues on Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET on Fox.
