Bonjour les amis de Cannes Lions!

Last night was a very big night for the digital industry. Digital and creative took center stage and audiences were inspired as the Cyber Lions, global awards for digital ad creative excellence, were awarded by a jury led by R/GA CEO Bob Greenberg. Two U.S. agencies won Grand Prix Awards for two separate campaigns driven by social media - Intel/Toshiba's "Beauty Inside" from Pereira & O'Dell and Oreo's "Daily Twist" from Draftfcb and 360i.

It's wonderful to see how the recognition of "cyber" has grown as a part of the International Festival of Creativity - from digital being relegated to a small side room several years ago to it now taking over the entire Cannes Lions festival. Of course, mobile is helping to drive that trend. Speaking of trends, I found out through our mobile jury panel at AOL yesterday that most of the entries for the Cannes Mobile Lions this year were actually for app-based services. As marketers and agencies attempt to balance customization of consumer services with more scalable rich media, look out for this innovative wave over the next few years.
