Suspected Killer's Chilling Facebook Confession: 'Now My Family Is Pain Free And In Heaven'

Dad Admits Killing Family On Facebook: 'Now My Family Is Pain Free'

Canadian authorities say they're investigating after a British Columbia man appears to have confessed on Facebook to killing his daughter, wife and sister.

An apparent confession posted to Randy Janzen's Facebook page around noon Thursday said that he'd shot his 19-year-old daughter, Emily, in the head because she suffered from migraines. The post has since been removed.

"I took a gun and shot her in the head and now she is migraine free and floating in the clouds," Janzen wrote, according to HuffPost Canada.

Janzen also admitted to fatally shooting his wife, Laurel, "because a mother should never have to hear the news her baby has died," and said he'd also killed his sister, because he "did not want her to have to live with this shame I have caused all alone."

Janzen said he was ashamed of his actions, calling himself "dirt."

Last month, Emily, an aspiring singer, tweeted about how glad she was to feel alive, despite "all the pain."

Police found one of the victims in a house in suburban Vancouver, the Telegraph reported. Acting on leads from social media, authorities went to a different house, where Janzen had barricaded himself inside.

After a four-hour standoff, neighbors reported hearing gunshots, and then a loud bang.

"There were two smoke bombs," neighbor Linda Anderson told CBC News. "One upstairs window and one through the living room window. I guess the drapes caught on fire and it was just a matter of minutes before the whole place went up."

Sgt. Stephanie Ashton of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police said the suspect is believed to have died at the scene, HuffPost Canada reports.

Police told the CBC Friday that bodies believed to be members of the same family had been discovered in two separate residences on Thursday, but they would not confirm the number dead or the identities of the deceased.

The last words Janzen appears to have written on Facebook were:

"Now my family is pain free and in heaven. I have great remorse for my actions and feel like the dirt that I am. I am taking full responsibility for my actions of these murders. So sorry to anyone I have hurt. Rest in peace my little family. Love Daddio xoxo."
