Raul Garay Accused Of Attacking New Mexico Marijuana Dispensary Owner With Help Of Son (VIDEO)

CANNA-FIST: Dad And Teen Son Allegedly Attacked Pot Shop Owner

Marijuana is supposed to make people mellow, but there was nothing calm and relaxed about Raul Garay when he went into an Albuquerque pot dispensery on June 21.

Police said they arrested Garay, 42, and his 15-year-old son for a fight that started after the owners refused to sell weed to Guray because he lacked the required documentation allowing to him to purchase medicinal cannabis.

A criminal complaint against Garay said he got agitated and threatened the owner of Zia Health and Wellness with an airsoft gun that looked like a real gun, according to KOAT-TV.

Garay allegedly bit dispensary owner Ed Gifford and his son, who also works in the pot shop.

"We said, 'We can't sell it to you because you don't have a card,'" Gifford told KOAT-TV. "Then he reached over and took a swing at me."

The altercation moved to the parking lot where Garay's son, whose name has not been released, hit Gifford in the back with a golf club.

"He told me he had his homies with him, but his only backup was his son," Gifford said.

Garay was charged with aggravated assault and child abuse, according to the Santa Fe New Mexican, and the son was charged with two counts of aggravated battery.
