Real Life 'Lion King' Photos Make Us Wish Our Vacations Were This Cool

All you Disney lovers out there take note, "The Lion King" is real.

These incredible photos were taken by traveler Brandon Heuser during a trip to the Maasai Mara National Reserve in Kenya last month. He said he took nearly 2,000 photos during the trip, and it wasn't until he was home that his family noticed the similarity to "The Lion King."

"We had seen so many things across the six days we thought it would be a great experience to relive a piece of our childhood and see how many scenes from the movie we felt like we'd experienced," he said.

Heuser started grabbing stills from the iconic film to match them up with his own shots -- and they results are stunningly accurate.

It's not the first time a surprising "Lion King" reference has popped up. In 2011, photos emerged of a real-life friendship between a mini-pig and a meerkat named, you guessed it, Timon and Pumbaa.
