'Real Time With Bill Maher' Renewed For Two More Seasons

HBO Renews 'Real Time With Bill Maher'

"Real Time With Bill Maher" will be sticking around HBO for at least two more seasons. Michael Lombardo, president of programming at HBO, made the announcement Tuesday.

The renewal for Seasons 11 and 12 will keep Maher's series on the network through 2014 and is part of Maher's new three-year deal with HBO.

"Bill Maher's irreverent wit and fearless insights make him the perfect observer for these unpredictable times," Lombardo said in a statement. "I'm delighted that we can continue to offer an uncensored forum for his original and thoughtful humor."

According to HBO, the Friday night series averaged 4.1 million viewers per episode during Season 10, the highest gross audience for the show in three years.

Maher serves as an executive producer on the series along with Scott Carter, Sheila Griffiths, Brad Grey, Marc Gurvitz and Billy Martin and Nancy Geller. Dean E. Johnsen is a producer on the series with Paul Casey serving as director.

"Real Time With Bill Maher" airs Fridays, 10 p.m. ET on HBO.
