I’m working on an exhibition entitled “The Potato Eaters.” Van Gogh’s seminal work and my own Idahoan heritage are at the heart of it. This photo is the reference for a large painting. I’m inspired by Araki, Manet and vintage family photographs to capture an idea about the bondage and bliss of rural domesticity. Thanks to The Pittsburgh Foundation for the 2011 Demarest Trust Award to help develop this exhibition.
