
Record collectors in Chicago on Saturday crowded into local shops who were among the 1,000 nationwide participating in Record Store Day.
In search of special releases, in-store performances and more goodies (which we previewed here), many music fans got up extra early with their hopes of snatching some of the limited-release musical gems up for grabs.

At Laurie's Planet of Sound, a line formed ahead of the popular store's 9 a.m. opening, DNAinfo Chicago reported.
