Reed Alexander Talks 'iCarly,' Getting Healthier And Spaghetti Tacos On HuffPost Live (VIDEO)

Are Spaghetti TacosHealthy? Reed Alexander Has The Answer

When he was 14-years-old, Reed Alexander had a wake-up call. After long hours on set playing our favorite TV nemesis, Nevel Papperman, on "iCarly," he noticed himself gaining weight and feeling low-energy. With a family history of diabetes, Reed decided to take his health into his own hands.

“Improvisation is a big word that we use on set at 'iCarly' but it takes up just as much root in the sound stage as it does in the kitchen,” Reed, who is now 18-years-old, explained when he stopped by HuffPost Live yesterday. “I began to improvise and turn my kitchen into a science lab, and experimented with my favorite recipes.”

Reed ended up launching his own website, kewlbites.com, to share his favorite recipes and healthy eating tips with other kids. He's also publishing his own cookbook later this year.

Because of his cooking expertise, HuffPost Teen editor Elizabeth Perle had one important question on her mind during the HuffPost Live interview: What did he think of "iCarly"'s famous spaghetti tacos?

Reed admitted that he's never had a spaghetti taco himself (gasp!), but he had plenty of tips on how fans could make them healthier. For example, he suggests to use whole wheat spaghetti or spaghetti squash, a whole wheat taco and homemade marianara sauce without sugar and extra oil.
