Reggie Deal, Blind Baseball Fan, Will Visit 30 Stadiums In 30 Days

Blind Baseball Fan To Go To 30 Games In 30 Days

Reggie Deal is proving that you don't need the ability to see to love baseball. Deal was born blind but he's spent the last few weeks going to a different ball park every day. His goal? To attend 30 games in 30 days.

ABC caught up with him at his favorite ball park, Minute Maid Stadium in Houston, Texas.

“If you come in person and close your eyes for a second, there's things that the fans and the atmosphere will tell you,” Deal, 39, told ABC.

His reason for attending 30 games in 30 days? “They are each different in their own way.”

The organist is different. The public address announcer and the traditions the crowd celebrates are all different.

“They don’t sing ‘Sweet Caroline’ everywhere, but they do at Fenway,” Deal said.

Although, Deal isn’t able to see anything at all, he takes pictures of the game and blogs about his journey on a voice recorder. He is even working on a written diary called "Blind Baseball Perspective."

Deal also hopes to inspire others to follow their dreams in spite of the obstacles they may face.

“If you have a passion for something try and find the best way you can enjoy it,” said Deal.
