'Rejected Pitches' Reimagines 'E.T.' Where E.T. Dies (VIDEO)

WATCH: What If E.T. Died?

If it were up to the studios, all movies would be market-tested within an inch of their life, which we all know is the recipe for creativity (see Ship, Battle). In the web series "Rejected Pitches," we get to see what would have happened if some classic movies had been retooled by a bunch of idiot executives in suits.

A trio of studio execs (Dan Klein, Kelly Hudson, and Ben Rameaka) have a meeting with Steven Spielberg (Scott Rogowsky), and are totally convinced that in "E.T. the Extraterrestrial," the titular alien is definitely a "turd" who should die in the end.

That might have changed the movie a bit, but give the public what it wants, right?
