If you've spent time out in the sun this summer without layering on enough sunscreen or covering up with a big hat, then it's likely that brown spots have popped up on your body -- telltale signs that our skin is reacting to overexposure from harmful UV rays. And this unsightly discoloration is even more of a headache for women of color.
In the video above, plastic surgeon Dr. Andrew Ordon of the television series "The Doctors" shows a mother complaining of sun spots on her hands (that her children love to play connect the dots with) a simple at-home solution. Using just three ingredients -- brown rice, agave nectar and lemon juice -- he whips up a scrub that exfoliates, hydrates and gradually lightens dark pigmentation.
