Rep Confirms Those David Bowie Rumors About Scattering His Ashes At Burning Man Are 'Untrue'

Bowie's son added in his two cents as well.

Over the weekend, rumors began circulating that David Bowie’s ashes were scattered at the Burning Man festival in Black Rock Desert, Nevada.

The Daily Mail, The Sun and a few other outlets cited a source claiming Bowie’s godchild was given permission by the late rocker’s widow, supermodel Iman, to sprinkle the ashes.

A rep for Bowie told The Huffington Post such claims were “absolutely untrue,” and Bowie’s son, Duncan Jones, confirmed via Twitter that the rumors were false.

Last week, Iman made her first public appearance since her husband died in January after battling cancer. The supermodel opened up about taking care of their only child, Alexandria “Lexi” Zahra, together, and what life has been like without Bowie.

“I’m holding up, I’m holding up,” Iman said at a NYFW event during an interview with “Good Morning America.” “Today was [the] first day of school.”
