"Revenge" is one of our favorite new guilty pleasure shows of the season, with equal parts intrigue, suspense, mystery and a touch of campy attitude to go with that fabulous Hamptons scenery. When we last saw the New York elite in previews for the next new episode (Wed., Jan. 4, 10 p.m. EST on ABC), they were all being held at gunpoint by Daniel Grayson's conniving college pal Tyler.
We've got the exclusive sneak peek at the first five minutes of that new episode to tide fans over until next week and the clip just so happens to include the identity of the person who Tyler aims that gun at.
Here's ABC's official description of the episode, titled "Duress":
An unwelcome and unstable visitor makes a nightmare of Daniel's intimate birthday celebration with family and friends; Charlotte becomes a pawn in Conrad and Victoria's bitter divorce battle and Emily watches her ultimate plan begin to unravel.
As for what to expect next, show creator Mike Kelley also gave HuffPost TV some scoop here, and this was a nice big tease of what's to come:
Here's the basic sequence of events: We'll see a more vulnerable side of Victoria when the show returns Jan. 4, but she'll also have to contend with Lydia, who comes back with a revenge plan of her own. Tyler is still around and plotting furiously as well. Then, in the next episode of the show, Kelley says, "We are doing another big take-down."
In the episodes after that, the show will "reset" Emily's revenge goals regarding Victoria and Conrad. "Something really dramatic happens" a few weeks after the show returns, Kelley said. Emily learns "a new piece of information and it absolutely reaffirms her goals, which leads us to the engagement party on the beach."
Yes, we know Tyler stole Nolan's sneaky little whale figurine camera, including a lot of very incriminating surveillance footage, but Nolan couldn't be more wrong about that being Tyler's free pass to extort Conrad Grayson. As usual, Emily's plan for vengeance is already five steps ahead of them all ... or is it?
