'Revolution': Elizabeth Mitchell Featured In Extended Preview (VIDEO)

WATCH: 'Lost' Alum In New 'Revolution' Sneak Peek

NBC aired an extended preview for its new J.J. Abrams show, "Revolution," during the Olympics--a feat that would be impossible in the show's post-electrical blackout dystopia.

The "Revolution" extended preview begins with a young Charlie Matheson (Tracy Spiridakos) watching television when her father Ben (Tim Guinee) comes home with news for his wife (Elizabeth Mitchell--a "Lost"/J.J. Abrams alum who was added to the show) that "[they] don't have much time." The power goes out around the world and 15 years later, things haven't gotten better.

Charlie's brother Danny (Graham Rogers) is captured and her father, who's been shot, gives her a mission to seek help from his brother and her uncle, Miles (Billy Burke). Along the way, Charlie seeks answers about why the power went out, whether or not her father knew how to bring the power back and, at the end of the preview, what the mysterious person who can still use a computer has to hide.

The "Revolution" extended preview ends with an offer that those interested in seeing the first episode of the series in theaters can find out more on Facebook.

"Revolution" premieres September 17 at 10 p.m. ET on NBC.
