Reza Aslan's Book Tops Amazon After Controversial Fox News Interview

Reza Aslan's Book Tops Amazon

Reza Aslan, the religious scholar who sat for one of a doozy of a Fox News interview last week, received some good news on Monday.

Galleycat reported that Aslan's book "Zealot: The Life and Times of Jesus of Nazareth," which was also the topic of that wacky interview with Fox News' Lauren Green, has reached the top spot on Amazon.

"Zealot" is also sitting in the number two spot on the New York Times best seller list in the combined print and E-book nonfiction category.

Aslan's Fox News interview struck many nerves as it made its way around the Internet on Friday. Viewers were outraged that Green demanded to know why a historian and religious scholar, who also happens to be Muslim, wrote a book about Christianity. When Green posed the question to Aslan last week, the author responded:

Well, to be clear, I am a scholar of religions with four degrees, including one in the New Testament, and fluency in biblical Greek, who has been studying the origins of Christianity for two decades, who also just happens to be a Muslim.
