A representative for Richard Simmons has denied reports that the fitness legend would be coming out as transgender.

In its June 8 issue, The National Enquirer published a series of photos which they said showed Simmons, 67, living as a "softly spoken woman named Fiona" in his Hollywood Hills mansion. The report cited an unnamed source, who claimed that Simmons had undergone "two years of secret surgeries," including breast implants.

Simmons' spokesperson Tom Estey told People that the Enquirer's report was "not true," and that his client had simply "decided to live quietly the last few years."

"He had knee surgery a few years ago and has a bum knee," Estey said. Pointing to Simmons' active presence on Twitter and Facebook, he added, "When he decides to come back, he will come back."

In an email to The Huffington Post, Estey reiterated that stance, noting, "Richard is not coming out and he is not transitioning."

The news also follows reports that Simmons had been taken to a Los Angeles hospital on June 3 for "exhibiting bizarre conduct." According to TMZ, the star had been "acting in an unusually strange manner" before being hospitalized.

By Monday, however, Simmons appeared posted a photo on his official Facebook page, saying he was simply hospitalized for dehydration.

Hope you feel better, Richard!
