Rick Perry's Mugshot Might Be A Money Maker

Gov. Rick Perry (R-Texas) hopes to profit from his mugshot.

The potential 2016 presidential candidate's newly created political action committee, RickPAC, is selling T-shirts emblazoned with his mugshot on the front. The back of the shirt features the mugshot of Travis County District Attorney Rosemary Lehmberg, who refused Perry's request to resign after she was arrested for drunk driving last year.

Perry was indicted last Friday for allegedly abusing power by carrying out a threat to veto funding for the state public integrity unit led by Lehmberg. The mugshot was taken on Tuesday, after Perry turned himself in to authorities.

The governor maintains that the indictment was politically motivated because Lehmberg is a Democrat, and the grand jury which indicted him is based in Austin, which leans Democratic.

"This is the type of lawlessness that we cannot and will not accept in the state of Texas. This needs to be exposed for the absolute corrupt process that it is," Perry said on Tuesday. "There is a continuity here of the philosophy that if you can't beat them at the ballot box, if you can't beat them in the court of public opinion, indict them."

Perry was initially scheduled to appear in court on Friday, but instead, he was testing the presidential waters at an appearance in New Hampshire.
