Florida Gov. Rick Scott (R) just can't handle interviews about GOP presidential front-runner Donald Trump.
On Tuesday, Scott dodged question after question about Trump -- on his comments about women and the violence at his rallies -- and instead talked about himself.
CNN host Carol Costello repeatedly tried to ask Scott about a new ad featuring women reading Trump's offensive comments about women.
"Do you think the ad is effective?" Costello asked.
"I haven't seen that ad," Scott said, even though CNN had just played part of it on air. "I know that when I ran in 2010, I still think the issue is going to come down to who people believe is going to help people get to work. That's the biggest issue. I grew up in a family -- I lived in public housing growing up. I grew up in a family struggling for work. That's the biggest issue."
Costello pressed again, asking whether the ad will hurt Trump.
"Carol, I haven't seen that ad," Scott repeated. "If you listen to people -- I probably shake hands with 200 to 500 people a day."
Scott also refused to comment on the violence at Trump's rallies, which has dominated political news coverage for the past week or so.
Not surprisingly, Scott again played dumb.
"I had protesters at some of my events both in 2010 and 2014," Scott said. "Everybody handles protesters differently. I was not at those events, so I couldn't tell you exactly how I would have done it."
Costello said that unless he had been "living in a cave," he had to know about what happened.
"That's how Donald Trump handles it. He can respond to how he handles it," Scott responded after more prodding. "I know how I handle it."
Scott has not yet endorsed in the Republican presidential race, and he refused to say whom he voted for in Florida's primary, which is taking place Tuesday. Trump currently has a significant lead in the polls there, despite the fact that Florida is Sen. Marco Rubio's home state.
Scott had a similarly awful performance on MSNBC last week, when he repeatedly dodged questions about Trump and his anti-Muslim rhetoric.
