Rick Springfield Arrested: 'Jessie's Girl' Singer Taken Into Custody For Missing DUI Court Date

Rick Springfield Arrested

Rick Springfield might have been asking himself "What Kind of Fool Am I?" on Friday after he was arrested for failing to appear in court.

Springfield was taken into custody at his Los Angeles home on Friday after the court issued a warrant for his arrest on Wednesday following his missing a scheduled court date for a previous DUI charge, according to E! News.

Back in May 2011, Springfield was arrested for DUI after police pulled him over for speeding down the Pacific Coast Highway, according to Rolling Stone. Last August, he pleaded no contest to a reckless driving with "DUI conditions" charge and was ordered to attend a three-month alcohol education program.

According to TMZ, the 63-year-old "Jessie's Girl" rocker also threatened to kill the deputy and his family if they towed his 1963 Corvette Stingray during the DUI arrest.

E! News reports that the musician was released after his wife brought over some paperwork to the station and cleared up the issue. He wasn't booked on any charges.

Springfield took to his Facebook page to explain the situation to fans on Friday.

My home away from home. Lost hills sheriff station. Arrested this am on a bench warrant. I didn't know that I was supposed appear in court a few weeks ago. It was to do with the old DUI charge and it's been cleared up and i am free to go. Thought I might miss the gig tonite but I will be there and we will celebrate together. Life is not boring. XOXO

This isn't Springfield's first arrest.

In 2000, the Sydney native was arrested for spousal abuse. Officers received a call about an incident and when they arrived at Springfield's Malibu, Calif., home they found his wife, Barbara Springthorpe, with "minor injuries to her face and arm."
