The stars of the animated family film, “Rio 2,” embarked Miami, Fla. on Friday for the inauguration of Miami’s first-ever Walk of Fame. VOXXI caught up with a wave of stars such as Anne Hathaway, Andy Garcia and George Lopez at the red carpet.

The early hours of 9:30 a.m. rolled around and beaming rays of sun spotlighted Bayside Marketplace, where hundreds of fans and press people gathered to give a warm welcoming to the cast of “Rio 2.”

The inauguration of Walk of Fame dedicated its first three stars to Andy Garcia, Jamie Foxx and the cast of “Rio 2″ for contributing to the charisma, worldwide prominence and name recognition of Miami through film.

The Miami Children's Chorus and Samba tunes entertained the crowd just moments before the event began on this typically hot Spring day in Miami.

Camera crews, photographers and journalists prepared to bombard the talented cast with questions at the red carpet prior to the unveiling of the stars.

At around 10:30a.m., George Lopez, Anne Hathaway, Jamie Foxx, Andy Garcia, Kristin Chenoweth, Jemaine Clement, Rodrigo Santoro and the film’s director Carlos Saldanha all appeared looking radiant and happy at Miami’s Bayside Marketplace for its special event.

Academy award nominee, Andy Garcia and Academy and GRAMMY Award winner Jamie Foxx were each granted a star.

“I am honored for this merit because Miami is where all my dreams unfolded,” said Cuban-American actor Andy Garcia.

Both actors were also honored with the keys to the City of Miami, as well as City of Miami Ambassador of Art, Entertainment and Culture Awards from Mayor Tony Regalado.

“I plan to use this key to get in to certain restaurant and clubs,” Jamie Foxx joked at the commencement.

Director Carlos Saldanha received the third star in honor of the cast and crew of “Rio 2,” who said Miami is similar to his hometown Brazil and he can relate.

“We are thrilled the Miami Walk of Fame’s first honorees are ‘Rio 2′ and two of its extraordinarily talented superstars, Miami’s own Andy Garcia and honorary resident Jamie Foxx,” said William D. Talbert, III, CDME, President & CEO of the Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau.
