Rita Wilson: We're Looking For People Who've Been Friends A Long, Long Time

Dear Readers,

Since October 2011, Huff/Post50 has sought to remind people that we can still accomplish great things -- while also having loads of fun -- whether we're 21 or 51 or 101. Through it all, one of the most powerful messages we've tried to impart is the importance of other women in our lives.

Female friends can be a lifeline, especially as we grow older. We laugh with them. We cry with them. We bitch with them. We drink wine with them. And, if we're really lucky, we bask in their glow -- believing we can do anything so long as they're by our side.

Have you had the same best friend or group of friends for 25 years or more? We're working on a story that highlights the importance of female friendship and we'd love to include then-and-now photos of you and your besties.

If you are 50 or older and would like to be considered, send a photo of you and your friend or friends from long ago and a recent one to friendship50@huffingtonpost.com. We'd also love to receive a few sentences about why you believe the friendship has stood the test of time. Don't forget to tell us your names and ages as well as how long you've been friends. And please put "friendship" in the subject line.

The deadline for submissions is Wednesday, Nov. 4 at 5 p.m.

Help us celebrate the beauty of female friendship.
