It was a tragic season finale for Maura Isles, as she discovered something terrible about her current love interest on the season finale of "Rizzoli & Isles" (Tue., 9 p.m. ET on TNT). The seemingly perfect Dennis Rockman -- played with sinister glee by Eddie Cibrian -- was a serial killer.
Isles found this out during their date when Jane Rizzoli and her team busted in. Their timely intervention saved her from becoming his next victim.
When asked why he would hurt her, Dennis replied, "Because her healing has brought me back to this earth. That’s why!”
Then a fall down a shaft brought him down to his death, ending the threat, but not the fear and heartache for Isles. If only she'd listened to Jane when she'd told her to let him go after he dissed her before. Of course, how could she have anticipated he was the serial killer?
"Rizzoli & Isles" returns in November 2012 with the last five episodes of this third season. The drama has already been renewed for Season 4.
