RNC Still Hasn't Gotten Their Bondage-Gate Money Back

RNC Still Hasn't Gotten Their Bondage-Gate Money Back

Hey, kids! Remember that time back in March when the Daily Caller's Jonathan Strong won the entire newscycle -- forever -- with the incredibly true story of how the RNC dropped $1946.25 at Voyeur West Hollywood, a "lesbian bondage themed nightclub," where a pre-SCRAM anklet Lindsay Lohan used to get bottle service?

Good times, right?

Well, for everyone but embattled RNC Chair Michael "Embattled" Steele. At the time, RNC spokesman Doug Heye vowed on national teevee that he would get that money returned to the RNC's coffers.

Well, how did that work out? Let's hit up Strong for an update:

But, months later, there's no evidence in Federal Election Commission filings that that has happened.

According to FEC reports, the California political operative who initially incurred the nightclub expense on behalf of the RNC, Erik Brown, did not send money to the RNC. Neither did an RNC employee, Allison Meyers, who took young donors to the club, which features topless women dancers imitating lesbian sex acts.

Heye, who initially made the vow that the RNC would be reimbursed to Fox News, CNN and several other news organizations, declined to talk about it. Neither would Brown.

Strong goes on to note that the failure to get this reimbursement is "ruffling the feathers of some RNC members, including those who support...Michael Steele." So, BREAKING: Michael Steele still has "supporters" at the RNC!

This is my favorite part of Strong's story:

A second, top-ranking RNC member, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, expressed shock that the RNC had yet to be reimbursed for the expense. "You can't do that! They told the media that was going to happen," the member said.

I bet that if the RNC could get $1 every time this year someone in the organization exclaimed "You can't do that!" they would have easily recouped these expenses.
