I've always been on the younger, consumer end of the family holiday dinners. I was never tasked with mashing potatoes, tossing the salads (that's what she said) or scarier yet, roasting an entire turkey.
Luckily for people that aren't me, and may be spending the looming holiday dinners in the kitchen preparing something edible for the rest of the family, there now exists a helpful visual guide for roasting your first turkey. Hell, even if you've done it before -- chances are you could always use an extra tip or two. Did you know that to check the "doneness" of your turkey, you have to check the temperature in three different places: the innermost part of the thigh, the thickest part of the breast, and under the wing. If they're not at least 165 degrees, your turkey has a bit more heating to do. Learn something new every day, right?
