More than 10 years ago, Rob Dyrdek and Christopher “Big Black” Boykin came into our lives with their show, “Rob & Big,” and a theme song saying, “Let me tell you about my best friend.”
So now, let Dyrdek tell you about his best friend.
After the news of Boykin’s sudden death on Tuesday, which People confirmed was from a heart attack, Dyrdek remembered his friend on Twitter in a series of messages.
He first wrote, “My heart is broken. I don’t want write this post. I don’t want to believe that this is reality. I am so thankful for you.”
In another tweet, Dyrdek continued, “We truly were brothers that lived an unexpected unforgettable adventure. I just can’t fathom that it would end so suddenly,” adding, “You will forever be in my heart.”
The reality star also posted images, including one of Boykin holding his son, Kodah, saying he was “so thankful” for the moment.
Dyrdek went on Instagram to post an additional image with a caption of a broken heart.
It wasn’t always cheery between the friends. Dyrdek and Boykin had a well-publicized falling out in their years working on “Rob & Big,” but the pair eventually reconciled.
As their theme song goes, they still loved each other “till the end.”
