NYPD Impersonators Allegedly Wore Hollywood-Quality Masks To Impersonate Police

NYPD: Robbers Wore Hollywood Quality Masks To Look Like Us

Three New York robbery suspects must have had a Hollywood-bound makeup artist.

The NYPD is still looking for three perps who held up a Queens check-cashing joint on Valentine's Day -- all wearing masks that the Daily News reports were professional enough that it's impossible to tell the suspects' ethnicity, age or gender.

It's enough to drive an investigator out of his mind.

The three armed themselves and wore fake police gear and badges. They made off with more than $200,000 from a Pay-O-Matic on love day, according to a NYPD release. They fled in a dark-colored, late 1990s Ford Expedition with a broken back window and black pastic in its place.

At first, cops thought the robbers were three white males -- in fact, a police source told The Huffington Post that he still thinks they weren't wearing masks -- but it later became readily apparent that the suspects weren't who they appeared to be.

"We don’t know if they are white, black or Hispanic," a police source told the paper. "People in the neighborhood saw them in the van for two or three days before the robbery. They saw three white guys."
