Robert De Niro Crashed A Random World Cup Party, Just Because

Rihanna may have World Cup tweeting on lock, but Robert De Niro is definitely taking the prize for best viewing story.

While shooting the upcoming film "The Intern" in the Cobble Hill area of Brooklyn on Thursday, June 26, De Niro set out to catch the USA-Germany game at noon, Business Insider reports.

According to a resident of a nearby apartment, Warner Brothers contacted his building via email to see if they could help out with the request.

"Our lead actor, Robert DeNiro, would very much like to watch the World Cup game, today at 12p," the email said. "Would it be possible to place a small portable satellite on the building rooftop ASAP and run a cable to the street to help facilitate this request?"

A little while later, they got another email from a neighbor saying that De Niro had spoken to the crew, found a house of people watching the game, and joined on in.

De Niro's publicist declined the The Huffington Post's request for comment.

"The Intern" is the latest from "It's Complicated" director Nancy Meyers. It tells the story of a young fashion professional (Anne Hathaway) who hires an older gentleman, played by De Niro, as her intern.
