Robert Gursky Warns Bank Teller About Lawfully Concealed Gun, Gets Arrested For Breach Of Peace

Man Warns Bank Teller, Gets Arrested

Vigilance: 1; Subtlety: 0.

According to Gawker, Robert Gursky "thought he was doing the right thing by bringing the bank staff's attention to a potential robbery in progress" at a Glastonbury, Conn., TD Bank on Monday.

Turns out he wasn't.

Gursky, 50, tried to alert a teller about a gun tucked under another customer's shirt, WTNH reported. According to police, he did this by whispering "gun" to the employee and then passing him a note.

The teller perceived this as a threat, and hit the panic button. Police responded to the scene and arrested Gursky for breach of peace. He was released on a promise to appear in court next week, according to the Hartford Courant.

"It could have been a level of confusion, but certainly it was confusing for everyone involved, even the people from the bank," Glastonbury Police spokesman Kevin Szydlo told WTNH.

As it turned out, the gun in question belonged to a law enforcement officer who was permitted to carry a concealed weapon.
