Robert Mapplethorpe's Queer Legacy Is Honored With A New Film

A new documentary is slated for release that takes an intimate look at the life, work and legacy of queer artist Robert Mapplethorpe.

Called "Mapplethorpe: Look At The Pictures," the project comes from Fenton Bailey and Randy Barbato -- the queer duo behind World of Wonder Productions and "RuPaul's Drag Race." Set to air on HBO on April 4, the film will look at the life of Mapplethorpe almost a quarter century after his death from AIDS-related illness in 1989.
