Robin Roberts Home From Hospital Following Transplant (VIDEO)

Robin Roberts Released From Hospital

Robin Roberts was released on from the hospital on Wednesday afternoon after receiving a bone marrow transplant.

Roberts tweeted a message to her fans on Thrusday morning, sharing the news that she was finally home.

Roberts received the transplant 21 days ago to treat her diagnosis of MDS, a rare blood and bone marrow disorder.

The "GMA" team kept viewers up to date on her progress throughout the month-long hospitalization with quick video messages from the co-host. Her colleagues also visited her at the hospital and shared their experiences on the air.

Last week, Roberts told viewers that her body responded well to the bone marrow transplant, which she received from her sister Sally-Ann. Her journey though is far from over.

"Home Sweet Home. That has never had quite so much meaning before," Roberts wrote on her blog.

Roberts' doctor appeared on "GMA" Thursday morning to share more news about the co-host's recovery. Roberts will still have to wear a mask and gloves to protect her body from infection while her immune system slowly rebuilds.

"So I will still be resting away from GMA until I'm given the all clear, but sleeping in my own bed again feels like a big victory," Roberts wrote.
